The panel is in backwards. Again.
StepKit turns the CAD, the old PDF and the warehouse video you already have into a guide your customer opens from the box. One step per screen, zoom and rotate, and an assistant that only knows what you approved.
See a guideNo app. The QR code opens it in the browser.

Check the hinge opens fully before going on.
H02
Lay the desktop face down on a soft surface.
P07
Fit the desktop to the frame with the cable cut-out at the back left.

Whatever you have is enough.
The CAD
Geometry and part relationships. The most useful input and the one most brands have.
The old manual
A 19-page PDF from 2023 that nobody has updated. Useful for sequence and part numbering.
A phone video
Someone in the warehouse building it in one take, badly lit. Often the only record of how it is actually done.
You do not need to prepare anything. The point is that this stuff is already sitting on a drive somewhere.
Halden Fold desk · 22 steps · about 35 minutes
Twenty-two steps, three questions.
From a CAD assembly, a 19-page PDF and an 8-minute video: 22 steps, 22 line illustrations, a 3D walkthrough and 3 flags.
Step 7 of 22, flagged
Step 07
Fix the left bracket with two M6x40 screws. Use the shorter screw.

Flag · step 7
Noticed: Two screw types are visually similar at the size shown in the original manual. M6x40 and M6x50.
Proposes: A side-by-side comparison with a printed ruler scale.
Three flags out of twenty-two. The third one it could not solve, and said so rather than drawing something plausible.
What the customer sees.
Fit the desktop to the frame with the cable cut-out at the back left.

Customer · step 14
does the hole in the top go at the front or back?? mine doesnt line up
Halden guide assistant
The cable cut-out goes at the back left, nearest the wall. On step 14, turn desktop P07 so the cut-out sits over the rear crossbar P04, then the four M6x50 holes line up with the brackets.
Answered from Halden’s approved guide only. Nothing else.
No app, no account, no sign-in. The QR on the box opens it and it remembers where they were if they close it.
The boxes in the warehouse do not need reprinting.
The QR points at the guide, not at a version of it. Change a screw, swap a supplier, revise a panel, and you update the guide once. Every box already shipped, already on a shelf, already in someone’s hallway, points at the new one from the next time it is scanned.

Fix one, the guide
An orientation marker added.
40% → 22%
02
Fix two, the product
A small arrow printed on the panel at the factory.
22% → 4%
The first fix was instructions. The second was the product, and they only found it because the instructions were measuring.

A person signs every version.
- 01Generated steps are drafts until someone at your company approves them.
- 02The assistant answers from your approved guide and nothing else. It has no general knowledge of your products and will say it does not know.
- 03Every published version is attributed to a named approver with a timestamp, and you can roll back.
Per product, per year.
Priced per product guide rather than per scan, because a guide that gets opened a lot is a guide that is working. The build, the illustrations, the 3D walkthrough, the assistant, the hosting and the analytics are all included, and so is every update you make.
